Description
Dosage and administration:
Administered by deep intramuscular injection at the rate of 1 ml per 10 kg bodyweight , which is equivalent to 20 mg Oxytetracycline per kg . It is recommended that the following amounts of Oxytetravet 20% LA Inj at one site should not be exceeded :
- Cattle: 10 ml.
- Sheep and Goat : 5 ml.
Effective blood levels are maintained for up to 72 hours in cattle and 48 hours in sheep . Because of the sustained blood levels attained at the above dosage rates with oxytetravet 20% LA Inj , one treatment is usually sufficient.
Withdrawal time
- Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption during treatment.
- Animals may be slaughtered for human consumption only after 21 days from the last treatment.
- Milk for human consumption must not be taken during treatment.
- Milk from treated cows may be taken for human consumption only after 7 days at the 15th milking in animals milked twice daily) from the last treatment .
